Once your record(s) are inserted in the appfielddefaults table, you will need to restart the Maximo application server for your changes to take effect. The object and default values are required, but you can then specify a certain app that uses that object or security group or user you want to have a particular default value. There is an appfielddefaults table in Maximo which allows you to set a default by application, group and/or user. The third method requires the use of a SQL tool. In the Object Default properties, leave the Value field enpty and enter a value in the From Data Source ID field for example MAINRECORD and in the From Attribute field enter the attribute value of the field you want to take the value from. To default a field with the value of another field: The system defaults of &USERNAME&, &SYSDATE&, and &AUTOKEY& will not work using the second method. If additional defaults for other fields are desired, drag and drop a new default object for each field and repeat the steps for filling out the properties. Once these values are entered in the properties for the default object, the attribute and default will display for the default object in the section. Highlight the defaultvalue… and select the Control Properties icon.Įnter the attribute for the field you want to set the default value for, this value can be found by looking at the properties for the field.Īlso enter the default value for the field. You will then see an object defaultvalue… just below the section header for that section. Select the Control Palette icon and drag and drop a Default Object object to the section the field you want to set the default on exists in. Select the Tab of the application the field exists on. Select the application in which you want to set a default.įrom the Select Action menu, select the Toggle/Show All Controls option. To set a default at an application level using Application Designer: The second way to set a field default in Maximo is by using a Default Object in Application Designer. Note: The four system defaults will only work in Database Configuration. &PERSONID& - This will default the current user's PERSONID value. &AUTOKEY& - This is used for attributes that are set to autonumber to default to the next autonumber value. &USERNAME& - This will default a field to the current USERID value &SYSDATE& - This will default a field with the current system date/time Your pointer is positioned in the Field Name column. To create a field, complete the following steps: Click the New Field button on the Fields tab or click the last row in the view that says Click here to add a new field. There are also three system defaults that work in the Database Configuration Default field. Create a field and apply a domain and default value. This is where you would enter your literal value for the default value. In the right hand side of the Details section there is a Default field. Select the attribute for which the default is to be set. Select the object the attribute exists in. To set a field default in Database Configuration: The first way is to set a field default at the database level using Database Configuration. Let’s import one layer called “USA 2000.shp” (you can import mutiple layers at once, of course).Īs a result as shown on the very top screen capture image, every polygon in the layer “USA 2000.shp” is stylized with the rules available in the MAP Stylesheet theme upon import. There are three ways to set a field default in Maximo. All my layers start with “USA” in the example above. We will specify here “Start with” for the Type, and “USA” for the Layer Name Match option.įor the Type option, there are five: Equals, Start with, Ends with, Contains, and Wildcard. There is a pattern in the layer name among the layers to be imported. There may be other layers called “USA 2001.shp”, “USA 2002″…. In this example below, one layer named “USA 2000.shp” will be imported. MAPublisher will check the layer name of all the layers being imported if the Auto-Assign Layers settings are made. Once you create all the rules for stylization using attribute values, click the link to open the Auto Assign Layers dialog window. In the “Edit Stylesheet Theme” window, there is a link to click next to the “Auto-assign” right below the layer option. In this example, there is only one stylesheet. You will need to prepare MAP Stylesheet theme(s) and set the Auto Assign settings within every stylesheet. With MAPublisher 8.6 or higher, you can apply styles to GIS data upon import using the MAP Stylesheet Auto Assign feature.
